Debbie has been a teacher at Top O' The Hill Nursery School since 1996, and became Supervisor at the school in 2005. She graduated with high honours from Seneca College's Early Childhood Education (ECE) certification in 2000, and is also certified in First Aid and CPR. She is married with three grown children.

Debbie is known to have a song for everything and loves the colour green. She strongly believes in the importance of play in a young child's life: "The early childhood years are exciting and powerful years for building the foundations of human intelligence. We see the act of play as the extraordinary educational process by which it happens."
